As I am sure you know, I live by a primary school.

We live around school opening and chucking out and tell doctors, nurses, equipment engineers and anybody else who needs to visit us not to come at those times.

I have come home before to find somebody sitting in her car where I normally park but who will not move up the few feet I need to park my Smart horizontally.

Yesterday I came home when they were just starting to swarm and my neighbour was out. I managed to take up three spaces with one Smart!

Petty and mean spirited I know but I have to have some pleasure in life.

This happens a lot at the school nearby and the mothers are so selfish, the way they park. It was even worse when my son went to school, cars would park on the pavements so you couldn't get a buggy through and made life very difficult for the walking parents.

I am glad you are finding pleasure in these little victories Sharron lol

Well done you :-D :-D :-D :-D. I have terrible problems parking to drop of G daughter . Parking is terrible,I get blocked in frequently and the ones that annoys me most is the selfish B*****ds who park about 6" from my drivers door so it is impossible for me to get in the car. I am disabled so cannot go climbing about from over the passenger side, if I can get in that side that is :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-|

Oh... an easy-parking week ahead then.

I hope your village is safe from fallen trees etc. in the forecast storm, so that you can have a care-free (??) week.

I know just how Sharron feels.
The council have recently put in parking restrictions in our road (primary school) but it won't stop the dangerous parking come Bonfire Night. A few years ago it was so bad a Fire Engine (not related to bonfire event) couldn't get through.
On weekdays it is' fun' to watch the dustbin lorry getting stuck and the 'no need' to hurry parents.

WELL DONE

I live near to a Secondary School and now all is back to normal with parking etc.,

But we have been through 4 years of hell. It was one of those which did not lose its funding for improvement. Parking became so bad, that you could not even guarantee parking on the next street. And I live on a street which only has houses on 1 side!!!! And it was not the workmen, but the teachers and I never knew a school could have so many teachers!!

Now the have 2 car parks, which they do not use!!!! But all the parking is done on another street, much to the annoyance of those few residents. But as they did not seem to think that there was a problem in the first place with all the work to be done I am looking on their problems as karma......

Our primary school is on a very dangerous blind bend with a pavement on one side.

It has been known for Fred to go out that way on the day of a school event and be unable to use the pavement upon his return because a car has been parked across it.

Luckily the school sports day is before harvest because it would be impossible to get a combine, or, indeed, a fire- engine through on that day. I would like to see somebody try!

Isn't it amazing - sports day - the one day of the year you would imagine the parents would like it to be known that they are capable of walking further than 20 yards!!

ours is terrible school is on the main road and has a toby inn next door who say we can use their carpark, theres a sports centre enxt to that wehere we can use the carpark but NO they drop them off on the yellow zig zags outside the school as they can walk a few yards. Others park down a road that leads to our street and the industrial estate but they park so badly I cant get my mobility scooter down the pavement, even had a parent when I told him that he had blocked the pavement told me to get out of the scooter and walk, the head got to know about that one.
