Sadly the death was announced yesterday of Noel Harrison (son of Sexy Rexy!)

He was 79.

He is best known for his song 'The Windmills of Your Mind' (playing at this moment on RLondon!) which was from the sountrack to the original Thomas Crown Affair

And being the co-star along with Stephanie Powers in the Girl from UNCLE.

He was gorgeous. Nearly as good as his dad.....

Loved both the Man and Girl from UNCLE as a teen... David McCallum was the bees knees... Love him now as Ducky in NCIS....

Oh dear I have wandered off topic....

Oh that's a shame :-(

David McCallum was my first crush lol, he is great as Ducky :-)

Am sure we had a thread about him earlier this year. Very sad. My memory of him was singing those songs in the Tonight programme - must have been 50 years ago. Lovely shy smile and a very melodic voice :-)

Yes I saw that, loved him singing that song. Liked him too (and his Dad.)

I also remember Cy Grant, singing a "topical calypso", and folk singers Robin Hall and Jimmie MacGregor, as well as Noel Harrison on Tonight. Programme began in 1957 with Cliff Michelmore presenting (never famous in his own right but he was the husband of lovely Jean Metcalfe).

Cy Grant died in 2010, aged nearly 90. And now young slip of a lad Noel has gone at 79. Where have the years gone :-0

Cliff Michelmore is still alive and living in Sussex (aged 93). Jean sadly died in 2000.

Round, like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel.
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
Like a snowball down a mountain
Or a carnaval balloon
Like a carousell that's turning
Running rings around the moon

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Like a tunnel that you follow
To a tunnel of it's own
Down a hollow to a cavern
Where the sun has never shone
Like a door that keeps revolving
In a half forgotten dream
Or the ripples from a pebble
Someone tosses in a stream.

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Keys that jingle in your pocket
Words that jangle your head
Why did summer go so quickly
Was it something that I said
Lovers walking allong the shore,
Leave their footprints in the sand
Was the sound of distant drumming
Just the fingers of your hand

Pictures hanging in a hallway
And a fragment of this song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair

Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
As the images unwind
Like the circle that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Pictures hanging in a hallway
And the fragment of this song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair

Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
As the images unwind
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind
