Just seen this

Note: The Ancestry website will undergo scheduled maintenance on Tuesday, 22 October, from approximately 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (GMT). During that time, some portions of the site may be unavailable. Thank you for your patience.

On their Facebook page, people have been having problems for weeks, rather like this site.

I consider myself very lucky in that to date (touching wood) I have had no problems with any site (FMP also playing up!).

But I only use this site for the boards. FMP for lookups and keep my very private tree on Ancestry.

I also, from reading the complaints, do not seem to use all the facilities on Ancestry, just add to my tree as I want, do not use member connect and the hints I only look at and in the main ignore.

Oh well, I do feel for those who have continuous problems with a 3 sites. It must be very frustrating.

It appears that all the sites are experiencing problems lately

Even Family Search was unavailable last week .....

Genealogy is now a huge market ...there must be a limit, somewhen, to the amount if subscribers the sites can accept ,,,,, without more investment in IT

Renes, I think you have hit the nail right on the head there.

As genealogy is now a multi-million pound industry, ALL those providing information now need to seriously look at their own technology and spend the money on upgrading to more suitable hardware. Instead all they tend to do is tinker with their sites, add on bits and pieces and hope that the brown paper and tape holds......
