if you go for the expensive thing that you really like 'now', you then have to live with it forever because you would feel less able to ditch the expensive one. But if your tastes don't tend to change I'd go with it.

A really beautiful table that lasts forever is worth having...if not forever by you then by someone else ( thinking about all the quality solid wood furniture I see go at auction when people have thrown it out in favour of 'modern' and generally poor quality chipboard).

If you can afford it always go for the one you love, if the cheaper one will not last as long if would be a false economy imo.
Also if you use your garden it will be as important as the inside of your house. I would say go for it. :-)

Hi Uzzi,
If the table unmovable once put in place, what happens should you decide to re arrange your garden.?
If you go for the cheaper option, perhaps the money you save could buy you something extra.

Funny enough the old boy and me were in Ikea last week, then we went to that shopping centre across the way.
Didn't think much of the town of Murcia though.

George :-)

If you love it, Uzzi, - get it! Or you will later regret it!

I am trying to do my outside "garden area" . Remember that I am looking at spending the money now rather than replace every 2 years.
I found a table and chairs in Ikea that I liked and could move about not cheap but was good. I didn´t buy it mind as I went away to think.

Yesterday I found a marble table that is incredible at twice the price (although there is a serving table included) and none moveable once in place. I want but can I justify the price. If I was putting it indoors it would have been bought but this is the garden. It will be stunning and never replaced, we will have to buy chairs for it.
I don´t like spending silly money but this table will never have to be replaced will always look stunning.

My dilemma is do I spend the fortune or go for the equally pretty option, but not stunning, at half the price, that will not last as long.

It´s up to you, I will listen to what you say.
