I have all my utilities with Utility Warehouse, gas, electricity, telephone, broadband and wi fi and I find them excellent and will not be changing

Their monthy bills are excellent in that you can read them and understand them - if you need assistance with anything they have a UK call centre and all their staff are fluent English speakers

Whether First Utility is the same company I'm not sure

if you have all their products you can have a Master Card wich you can use in lots of the big stores, Boots, Debenhams, River Island, B & Q, M & S and stacks more - you earn points when you use the card in these stores which gives you cash back off your fuel bills

I am with First:Utility and they are very good indeed. They are a small totally British company based in East Midlands and are very good to deal with. I have been with them for just over 2 years - previously with E.On who I rate highest of Big Six. Before that B Gas who rate - how can I say this diplomatically? BG are not the best of the Big Six but are in the first 6 places.

However, I do think First:Utility are a little bit more expensive than Utility Warehouse currently and I personally would give them both a ring. Not all companies cover all geographical areas and sometimes they charge differently in different areas.

Have put contact numbers on OFITG's site about energy prices

Colin. Yes, First:Utility will not increase prices till after the cold weather. FU (hmmm!!!) increased prices by 18.7% last June. I was so unhappy when I got that email, but did a bit of shopping around and realised they were still cheaper than any of big companies and still very competitive.

Also, they explained exactly why they had to hike prices by 18.7%. In language that a simpleton could understand (takes a bow ;-)). And it was not solely to line trouser pockets of Directors. :-)

I will look for best fixed deal over a few years in the Spring. Get a good loyalty bonus from FU each year for being a good boy and paying promptly - in cash. So will probably go to First:Utility first before I shop around Utility Warehouse and one or two others.
