I have just chucked a bundle of washing (dhobiing?)down the stairs for the staff. He has had to interrupt his pricking of sloes for the sloe gin to put it in the machine.

I don't know if he complains about how put upon he is.Well he gets his words terribly muddled and I can't always understand what he says! Tee-hee!

Dhobying

reminds of when I was a lad, just after the war, next door neighbour was an ex sailor and did his dungarees with a scrubbing brush, on a slab of wood in the garden and wrung em out with the old wooden roller mangle..........

Sharron Report 17 Oct 2013 11:30

Does that mean that one day I will be forced to do washing and prick sloes and go out foraging and eat in cafes and do shopping and go into town to buy my own razor.

Oh dear, what can I do to rectify this?!

Poor Fred sitting there minding his own business
pricking sloes then whoosh covered in the washing.

I thought of Fred today as we were scavenging in an old orchard gone wild. The apple trees still produce apples and the plum trees plums but they are not owned or picked by anyone. We got a bag full of apples, mostly small but all of edible size. Missed the plums I guess someone else had those.

Sharron Report 17 Oct 2013 21:09

We all went to the village lunch today and Fred had to get me some apples on the way home.

He is tucked up in bed with a cup of tea now, no doubt wondering what he can get up to tomorrow. Suppose I will have to think of something.

I think I should report you for your treatment of a poor old man, all but helpless because of a stroke, and subject to all kinds of indignities by his daughter.

Would you like to tell me where and who I should complain to????
