Hardly over the top, the headmaster has only asked that invitations to parties not be brought into the school. i think that's fair enough.

"At the school yesterday, parents appeared to back the headmaster’s stance.

One, a mother of three who requested not to be named, said:

‘It is not nice to leave people out.
‘I usually invite the whole class until they have really made close friends, but when they are older you just ring the other mums.’

So what about those single parent children who are in large classes ie 32

How are the parents ment to afford it

I realise this is a private school but I,m sure this will happen in non private schools

Hadn't see this story, Kempina. So thanks for posting.

It is interesting. I tend to think these things can be used as weapons against unpopular mothers and children. It is a very difficult line to draw, as anyone will know who has organised a wedding invitation list. :-)

It's the decision of the head teacher in one private school... another 'non story' from the DM.

I think if the single parent can afford to send a child there he/she can probably afford a phone call or email to other parents..... after all the parents of boarders will have to be contacted anyway for permission to leave the school grounds.

No one is saying all the kids in a class have to be invited... all that is being said is that the invites can't be given out in class in front of everyone.
