My 3 year old grandson is literally 'tongue tied' - ie the piece of skin under the tongue holding it in place is a bit short. This is usually cut when the baby is very young. Daughter noticed it, but 'procedures' took so long, she didn't have the skin cut. This has resulted in the wee lad having speech problems. He knows what he's saying - but very few can understand him (his elder brother is also tongue tied, but only has a lisp). |
