Thank you Elizabeth, all lovely and thought provoking verses.
The one about the elderly reminded me of my cousin, who I stayed with last week. She rang me last evening and said she is missing the company, she lives alone altho has good neighbours and friends around and her son visits often and does little jobs for her and calls her to chat as well. Her partner was murdered several years ago so she has had to cope on her own for some time now.
Then the 'Simple Prayer' - I just read on fb about a little lad who took his own life after being bullied at school.
I had a message from an old school friend the other day telling me of another friend whose hushand had died suddenly and also passing on a mobile number of another school friend, who apparently 'is having domestic problems.' I texted her last evening and she replied telling me she and her husband have split up after being together for nearly 50 years, his choice it seems not hers, she is devastated. They have one son and three lovely grandchildren and had just moved into the son's smaller house, giving him the larger family home with a bigger garden and more bedrooms. Seems the stress of the move set things going which have resulted in the split. So sad.
All those people the prayers apply to, will be in my thoughts.
Special thoughts and thanks to you Elizabeth for all your kind words on the threads and in messages, supporting others.

Dear All
Hello
Hope you are okay.
Well, the season of autumn is now with us.
Here are three poems/prayers I found recently:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"AUTUMN"
"Grieve not for the leaves, dying in Autumn's track,
They go to come again, Spring will bring them back".
BY PATIENCE STRONG
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"OUR ELDERLY FRIENDS"
"We offer thanks for the privilege of knowing elderly people:
thank you for their experience and wisdom, and the stories they tell us,
be with them when they feel lonely and maybe unwanted,
help them if frustration makes them angry,
surround them with your love
so they may find comfort".
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"A SIMPLE PRAYER"
"Dear Lord, help those who are lonely:
children who are bullied and feel they cannot tell anyone
Shy people who find it hard to make friends;
those who feel rejected and isolated;
those whose spouse has died or left them;
and elderly people who miss their families and old friends.
Please be with them all and give them your love and strength".
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope you like them. <3
Take gentle care Best wishes Elizabeth, EOS xx
