Mum was the only one in the family who liked roast parsnips ,she used to do some for herself with the roast pots for the Sunday roast . I did try them but urgggg
Funny thing though is for some years I have been able to eat and enjoy them . Still don't like cooked carrots though ,can eat em raw but cooked no thanks .

I was "allowed" not to eat them as a kiddy cos dad didn't like them either so I was just like dad!

If any found their way onto my plate in a stew I didn't have to eat them

I used to be a chocolate fiend but, although I still like it, am not so mad about it, and don't much like chocolately things, like cake or pudding. Have a less sweet tooth now - I used to like cake and biscuits, but now only buy biccies occasionally (loads of them I'm not keen on) and only like cake if it's homemade!!

I agree, although some of it is from lack of opportunity.

It used to be sweet versus savoury, now its the other way round.

Chilli, curry and peppery spices, fresh horseradish are a no-no. They give my mouth/lips the feeling that they are being burned. Even if that doesn't happen, anything else eaten just gives a 'hot' taste - no flavour.

I used to work in a nursing home Paula, and remember many of the relatives would say that mum/dad never used to have a sweet tooth but now they loved sweets/biscuits/cakes.

Do you think our sense of taste changes as we grow older? If given a choice I have always preferred fish opposed to meat, savouries opposed to sweet. I now seem to be choosing the opposite. Is this usual.
