The price of a ticket on the National Lottery from today is now £2 :-( and there are reports that the price hike will cut ticket sales by 50%. |

We will still do our one line. I think it will be people who buy more than one line that will decrease theirs. |

I do the euromillions. That cost £2. The jackpot often reaches £100,000,000; as appossed to the £4M typical of the National Lottery ;-) |

Gambling is expensive, and I doubt it will have a big effect on Lottery. You cannot pay £1 for most betting (try giving bookie £1) and families who enjoy a gamble usually spend quite a few pounds per week. |

It won't change the number of tickets/lines we buy as we only occassionally have a 'punt' perhaps 4 lines a month between the two of us, 2 of those on the Euro Lottery. |

O.F.I.T.G. I do exactly the same .All Lucky Dips.(Don,t think they have any numbers that I have) but from now instead of the new £2 ticket I will get the Hospital one at £1. I think they are trying to rip people off even more.:o((> |

As I gave up alcohol over 10 years ago, also that I have substantially reduced my cigarettes, and that due to mobility problems can no longer get to my weekly night out at the bingo, and that where I will be going I cannot take my money with me :-D my £6 a week on the lottery is my little bit of fun, but that's all it is, a bit of fun, if I win I win if, I don't I don't, I won't lose any sleep over it, all the increase means to me is I will buy one ticket less each week :-) |

We make a point of not doing the same numbers every week so have a lucky dip, that is to guard against missing out if the numbers come up when we don't do it. |

As they say if you don't try you don't win, had quite a few £10 wins plus £98 once on EuroMillions, and in 1979 won £3,300 on Rangers Pools plus £1,975 on Littlewwods in 1987, anyone else been lucky :-) |
