Well they do say that if you are eating something unedible your sub-conscious is trying to tell you that there is something that you are missing in vitimins etc. :-S not quite sure what hair or vaseline or any of the rest equates to :-S

Paula, the bones of tinned salmon were the best bit and very good for you - lots of calcium.

I used to chew raw bacon fat and rind. My mother was so worried about it that she took me to the doctor, who laughed and said it was better for me than chewing gum!

I didn't eat or swallow it......... just chewed the ends. My hair must have looked awful.

Long term it didn't do any harm..........my hair is very thick & curly.

I don't think I ate anything inedible, but my cousin used to eat the bones out of tinned salmon, she positively loved them. Even the thought of it now makes me feel sick.

I went through a stage of chewing my hair! Mum took me to the hairdresser & got it all chopped off.

I was forced to eat things I considered inedible........... like turnips!

I used to nibble holes in my shirtsleeves when at school..........

and one time I remember had a connection screw from a electric train set in my teeth~( for safe keeping, I expect) that I accidentally swallowed.........

used to steal the crusty bits off freshly baked loaves..........
