Sue, I did that and they sent me the instructions quoted above.

I think they need to reinstate the box on "My Account" which you can use to change your card no. but when I put that on the Suggestions page I had a reply telling me to go to Subscribe --------- :-| :-|

A few years ago, when my card ran out, they still managed to take the money!!
The next year my daughter paid for me, and (accidently) the following year :-D (guess who didn't change her automatic renewal)
Then I paid by cheque.
Now I have it on automatic renewal.

MarilynB.
Mail them through CONTACT US and tell them you have a new card you need to put the details in for your subs.
They were very good when I had to do the same thing.

I followed those instructions back in August, about two weeks before my sub was due and they took my money straight away and sent me an email welcoming me as a new member. :-S :-S

I was not amused!!

Thanks Inspector GreenPen, managed to get to inserting card details, thought I had done something like this before, but just couldn`t seem to find the way.

Didn`t have my card details to hand so will try again later.

Thanks again

Marilyn

From the Help Section

How do I change the card I pay with?

We don't actually store your card details online. If you want to use a different card for your auto-renewal payment, you can do so from two weeks before your renewal payment is due.
Here’s how you can change the card details.
• Select the option to renew your membership on your Genes Reunited homepage by clicking on 'subscribe'.
• Choose the membership package that you'd like.
• Click on the green box titled 'Subscribe'. This is to the right of the payment options list.
• If you are a Platinum subscriber you’ll see the Additional Features page where you can add other records to your package. Standard members won’t see this page.
• This will take you to the payment page. Please ignore the box at the top prompting you to enter your password.
• Go down to the next section and enter the new card details.
This will then be the card we’ll use for future payments.

My card expired two years back and I did not have to wait until they told me the payment had failed before giving them my replacement card details. However the option is only enabled just before your payment is due.

About a month before your renewal you should get a reminder message from GR. At the same time the option to update your card details should also be accessible, under your Account, if I remember correctly.

I just did it when it run out...they will let you know that they couldn't take the money or you could change to single payment....it does not make any difference as long as you renew within a month of your sub expiring

Edit- I don't think there is an option to change cards from what I remember
