He stayed in bed looking weedy until I had rung the doctor who prescribed yet more anti-biotics, then, when the lunch- time carers came, he decided he was bored with that and got up.

Have just been woken by a worried carer.

Fred, as expected, has my cold. He was coughing last night and, as I never take anything for a cold, I had nothing in, so I gave him some 85% chocolate to ease the coughing and an extra tot of whisky.

The right side of his face is still weak so he dribbles a bit.

This morning the poor girls came in to discover a weedy looking old chap who said he wasn't feeling well and didn't want to get up today AND who had something dark running down his face from his mouth.

A very concerned little voice shouted up the stairs to tell me it might be a good idea to call a doctor. I am glad she did and didn't call immediately for an ambulance. Somebody would have had chocolate on their face!
