Bless her and her family. How do you live with that, the knowledge of what he possible did. What an evil man! Rest in peace little one.

"A poem called An Autumn Night by local man was read out at the service.

Flickering lamps and lanterns
Slowly ascend in random assembly,
High into the darkest of night skies.
In loving memory
With lingering hope.
By individual and collective prayer,
In sadness, naming every passing hour
Our marshes are strangely quiet.
All is swept clear
In another tide washed darkness.
Only the curlews,
Made invisible by distance.
Quietly sing their ancient
And oft practised lament.
For they and I, Are confounded; Yet again;
By the profane and deranged
Behaviour of mankind.
Slowly, in a seeming age,
The flickering pinpoints of light vanish.
A gentle breeze soughs across shivering rushes,
Causing them and tall bowing stands of reeds,
Their horse-tailed flower heads darkly brooding
In massed green and autumnal russet ranks,
To sound in echoing and undulating whispers.
As distance nocturnal curlews
Keep faith with their watch
And continue their ancient lament.
This autumn landscape is hushes.
It is quieted, Pensive and waiting.
The mantle of an unfamiliar despair
Touches all of us, who care."

I passed through Machynlleth a few weeks ago, impossible to look at the Dovey Estuary without thinking of April. RIP.

I hope they find a little peace in being able to say goodbye to their daughter at long last.

Today is the funeral of the remains of little April Jones, so let us send our thoughts and prayers to her family on what must be a very difficult day for them.

On 30 May 2013 Mark Bridger was found guilty of murdering April, to this day he has not said what he did with her body.

April vanished while playing on her bike near her home in Machynlleth, mid-Wales, on 1st October last year and her body has never been found.
