Received one today from Nationwide concerned about scams etc.

Only one thing wrong - have never used Nationwide ever!!!

Researching:
I am researching the Wotherspoon family from the Old/New Monkland areas of Scotland, some moved to the Leslie and Kelty areas of Fife and I'm having problems linking the Wotherspoon's from Leslie and the Wotherspoon's from Kelty. I am also researching the Clusker family from Co. Meath in Ireland who moved to West Lothian and from there to Fife............"Vita non est vivere sed valere vita est"

I pay my British Gas bills online. Yesterday I received an email from 'British Gas' thanking me for my payment of £250.00.

As I had not paid any bills recently and the http address was not for British Gas, I decided to report it to British Gas.

They have just phoned me back confirming my thoughts, it was a SCAM. And to delete it. They have received many calls/emails about this new scam and have advised regulators/police.

If you do get one DO NOT OPEN the attachment, it contains a virus.

Just Delete straight away, and contact British Gas to let them know, the more cases that are reported the better for them to get the culprits caught.
