My OH is an insomniac too & it drives me mad.
He doesn´t have any illness. He just doesn´t sleep well. At best, he comes to bed 2 hours or more after me & wakes me from a sound sleep, then after a couple of hours, he gets up & wakes me again, watches TV for a couple of hours, comes back to bed & wakes me again, then complains that I disturb him when I get up at 7 am, feeling like I have never been to sleep.
It´s not his fault. It´s just the way he is.
Have now more or less solved the problem by sleeping in seperate rooms. Not ideal, but at least I get my 8 hours & he can stay in bed as long as he likes in the morning.
You´re not a witch Dizzie. Just an insomniac.

You're a lovely person, Dizzi. Just that OH is English and you are Australian.

Think however well or poorly we are, our body cycle takes on a life of its own as we get older. Some of us are morning people, some evening, some night. :-) :-)

My ex always maintained that he didn't sleep at all. One problem was that I snored and kept him awake.

One morning, when he was dripping on about it yet again, I explained that, at least I waited until I was asleep to start snoring, unlike himself who did it for hours on end when he was, allegedly, wide awake!

He was shouting angrily that somebody was shining a light in the window in the middle of the night once. He had been asleep again and God thought he might surprise him with that bright light he shines in every day!

Well I. Hope I sleep tonight.....I have to be up at 4-30 to drive for two hours before I get to a dog comp......

Try some soothing relax music Gwen......mind you, it only works if there is no need to get up early :-(
