Out of the 40 odd who have read this thread I wonder how many have clicked on the link. It would be interesting to know :-)

I sent off two. Had a "nothing found" on one, but on another they discovered I had deposited a small amount in National Provincial Bank pension fund. I left their employ in 1969, was studying at University on "secondment" from Nat Prov and didn't even realise they had a non-contributory pension scheme.

Nat Prov became National Westminster soon after. And had changed banks and addresses several times since so I was untraced - mind, I doubt they had tried very hard.

Hope you and others have some luck, Susan. More chance of modest winnings than lottery. And free.

Have used it. Free and very easy to check. Who knows what we paid in to things when we were very young?

Today I got a surprise when opening the post, a letter from a tracing agency informed me that a company my father worked for asked them to trace those who had paid into a pension scheme. Apparently my Father had payed into one for two months in 1957 after leaving the Army. It only came to £112 but it did make me wonder if there were other pension schemes he had paid into.....He had a few jobs in the early days before he settled.....Maybe some of you will also benefit from getting in touch with companies that your parents worked for.....Just a thought.
