I can eat yogourts which are several days out of date from our fridge, they taste fine and no mould or anything nasty in/on them.

He will be missing it again tomorrow anyway. His mate has an engineer coming to look at his refrigerator tomorrow and doesn't know if he will be with us in time.+

There is a very tight time span. We have to have him commoded in time to coincide with the bus that only runs three days a week.

They had meat pie and vegetables at the other café today.

Ann in Glos.you are right about scones.
I used to have a beach cafe and used sour milk to make the lightest scones, and I made at least 60 every day throughout the summer.
Sour milk isn't quite the same these days as I believe they take the rennet out of it.
Like Sharron I would have used the cream.Geordie,I agree you use your own common sense.

OH is a chef. He won't throw it away until he can't catch it.

If it looked alright and smelled alright, then I'm sure it was, Sharron!
Too much food is thrown away because of sell by dates, you've just got to use your own senses!

Don't want to waste any!

There was no mould on it, which I find a little disconcerting. What the Hell must they do to it?

Tell us how you feel tomorrow. I do remember my Mum used to make scones with milk that had gone sour :-)

The one with a use by date of 14th August.

It made a sumptuous rice pudding tonight.
