John, you do note the most curious things.
What on earth are you doing sculling around inside toilet rolls?
Did you have a poor night's sleep?

I just had to check mine since you said it and lo and behold the date in my 'spare' roll - ready and waiting to jump onto the holder - is Nov 1960. Unbelievable!

I just hope it holds up when needed and doesn't leave me in the ....!

BTW - the use by date on a newspaper is always on the front page - mostly near the very top.
Jus' so ya know!

Why do people adhere to the actual use by date on stuff?

some of it is made with a 5 year use period..........what difference is a couple of weeks going to make?

some of my inhalers have fairly long useage periods.......

"Use By:" I chuck it out if it's after this date
"Best Before" means just that.

EDiT:
Couldn't resist it.... just looked inside the loo roll tube.
Asda's own brand doesn't have a date.
It has:
13195 1 01

I have approx. 50 bars of out of date chocolate.

My mum being a bit of a hoarder got a liking for this choc/nut bar from lidl...when I visited recently she told me she couldn't eat it anymore as the nuts got stuck in her teeth...so did I want it? I said yes and she gave me 8 bars (in date)

She then said I have some out of date ones so will throw those away....no I will have them they will be ok....I expected half a dozen not 50 :-D

Anyway they taste alright

My mother asked me to get her the tube of Savlon out of her bathroom cabinet the other day. The expiry date on it was 1998. I threw it out - thought it may have lost its healing properties by now.

Island,

In days of olde when knights were bold
And toilet paper hadn't been invented
People wiped their ass with a clump of grass
And walked away contented.

There is no use by date on grass. :-D

one of my Dad's favourite verses that Jonesy!!!

I always ignore the best before dates and the use by dates - I go by smell and the look!!
