Is it possible to compile an additional family tree on Genes in addition to my own? :-S

Hi Gordon

Only if you open another account as a free member but you will be unable to contact other members (paying members could contact you though)

Could I respond to any contact who contacted me then?

Yes :-)

Unfortunately, you won't be able to view their tree if they open it to you; you could re-establish contact via your paying account where you will be able to.
They can view your tree on your free account if you decide to open it to them
