If push came to shove we could check on the 'phone log.

It was the officer's attitude that was so annoying!

He acted really annoyed when proven wrong.

It can be proved when the phone calls on that phone are made by times etc so if the police log said a certain time and no call was made he should have been ok.

Challenge it? Surely the onus would be on the police officer to prove that your husband was using the phone whilst driving. Do they not issue fines on the spot over there?

As an aside since they've tightened up the laws over here about mobile phone use/tailgating I seem to have seen more drivers using mobiles than I did before.

OH was pulled over by a "spotter" police officer, who claimed OH was using his 'phone while driving.

OH denied doing this.

The police officer seemed annoyed, and stated that he had taken a photograph. OH again told the officer he was NOT using a 'phone, and didn't have his 'phone with him.

The officer checked the car, admitted there was no 'phone, and allowed OH to leave.

The 'phone was on the desk in the study, recharging.

What would have happened if the fine came through the post?

No idea what OH was doing at the time....... scratching his ear?
