Overseas dentists and doctors..

I am wondering what sort of credential check and diploma checks are made on foreign dentists and doctors who come to practice in this country by our Health Authorities...My wife's sister and husband have used same dentist for years and years..About 9 months ago the practice was sold..It seems no patients were informed of the change.. The 4 new dentists are all Indian as is the company that's taken over...2 weeks ago our brother in law had 2 fillings..In this last week both teeth they filled have broken off...Where do they stand now as to regard restoration work that needs to be done?? No-one seems to have any idea..They are both well into pension age and if they're asked to pay for the work they will be struggling...
Any of my friends out there have any ideas?? LES....

If you google "Dentistry Complaints" there are several other options, but all say basically the same.

General Dental Council which lists all Dentists licensed to practice in the UK regardless whether Private or NHS.
(NHS dentists who will treat adults are as rare as hens teeth around here!)

There is also a leaflet on the same link called 'Smile'
This leaflet explains the role of the GDC, knowing what to expect at your visit, and what to do if you're unhappy with your experience.

From personal experience, sometimes a big molar filling can lead to the remaining enamel breaking way. :-0 :-0

My dentist is Polish.
Totally fantastic.
My OH dentist is Greek. He is also fantastic she says.
Both do NHS work.

I have 2 doctors in the practice I go to

1 is Hungarian he is an absolute darling - due to retire and I am sure that all his patients will miss him immensly

the other is French and he too is wonderful.

Some of the worst doctors I have had have been English through and through, talked to the patient like they were stupid and the bedside manner of Dr. Mengele.....

My dentist is I think Greek, and she is fantastic, very understanding of my fears. In fact by the time I leave we are both laughing at my predicament.
