Ever since I logged into this site just after 8 pm I am getting across the top of page -

To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors. Click her for options.

Not getting that message on Ancestry so why on this site ?

Does stop some of the adverts from displaying which is a blessing.

It could be a variety of reasons - is it in the area where you usually get advertisements?

Being displayed just under the tab that is open to view this site. Stays at that position when I scroll down page.

Message comes up everytime I change boards or click on a thread.

Currently got a blank space instead of an advert

If you know how, out of interest just try running Internet Explorer without any add-ons and see if the problem persists.

If you are unsure how to do this give me a shout.

Also it could well be linked to advertisements.

Thanks Errol but do not have a clue about that. Have had problems before which I think were caused by adverts. Running IE8 with Windows XP

If you click on your Start menu then Accessories and then System Tools you will find Internet Exxplorer (No Add-ons). Try it and see if you still get the problem.

Also, check that your computer clock and date are correct (bottom right corner).

That is weird

When I click on Start and then All Programs - about 50% are highlighted in orange

Click on IE No add ons - will see if it makes any difference.

Thanks Errol

They are usually highlighted if they are new programmes

GlitterBaby

GlitterBaby Report 3 Sep 2013 23:15

Took a break.

Not sure about the new programmes. Some of the stuff highlighted has been on my system for at least 5 years and I have not upgraded them - such as Open Office 2.2

Come back onto site and get a blank box instead of an advert but this time displaying - Content was blocked because it was not signed by a valid security certificate - across the advert space.

Will leave it for tonight and see if it is still happening tomorrow

Thanks Errol.

Oh bother.

Just gone back to Ancestry and it is now showing on there as well - which it was not doing earlier.
