I joined in 2008 and have always ticked the auto renew box. Mine is £7.96 for 6 months. That's obviously double what the longer serving members pay but I think it's still good value for money due to the help given on the boards.

Cheap as chips MR_MAGOO....... aren't we the lucky ones and fingers crossed that McB will also be offered this greatly reduced annual rate.

If you're on the basic membership as i am It's less than 70p a month...18p per week.

If you put a 20p in a jar every week you will have next years sub..... :-D

I have also ticked the auto-box for renewal and been very pleasantly surprised to be asked to pay just £7.96p for the 12 months Standard membership. Just too good an opportunity to turn down.
I also joined in 2004 McB and would advise you to keep the box ticked and you also might be happy with the suggested annual renewal fee.

I agree with Sylvia that if you break your ongoing membership then you will be charged a ridiculous high amount to rejoin. You could be pleasantly surprised when your reminder is emailed to you, you can then decide what you feel is right decision for you.
Good luck.... please would you keep us posted?

they're trying to bring everyone up to the rates paid by new members ............ which seem to be around £14.95 for 6 months or £19,95 for 12 months.

I mentioned it because I noted that you were a long time member, like myself.

You have probably been on a grandfathered low sub, like most of us "oldies".

Some oldies have been surprised by being asked the new rate, others surprised by still getting the low rate.

No matter which ................... if you break your membership, you will get the new rate.

I decided that renewing at the old rate was worth for the chatting to friends .................. the new rate would not be worth it because of the lack of activity on the look up Boards, which is where I usually help.

Not sure what my renewal fee would be, it's been on auto renew since 2004

depends how much you are paying ..................... if you have a very low Standard sub as some of us do, don't forget that if you let it lapse and then decide to re-join later .............

you will pay a much higher Standard membership

I renew because of the fantastic help I get on the boards. It's also nice to help others when I'm able.

I have just renewed because I know I would miss reading the threads and having the choice to add comments...... you have until the 25th to decide McB, but I would encourage you to renew your membership and perhaps post more than in the past.

Just unticked the auto renew box in my account, got till the 25th to decide whether to stay or not, don't post much nowadays.
