My mum has just learnt that a old neighbour of hers has reached 106 yesterday, we knew that she had reached 100 but mum had moved and is housebound now so they had lost touch.I could not believe it. mum had already been to ladys birthday party this week who was 100, so maybe its true we are all living longer.

Hi Linda, will you please find out what they are on lol, as I'd like some of the same!

There do seem to be more people living longer, great if you can stay fairly well and active, and not in pain

Nice that your Mum had been partying with her friends, how old is she?

All in the jeans. An old miner in Rhondda village of Cwm Clydach celebrates his 100 in January.

Still very well, still walks up into the cwm every day at quite a speed. Can see him getting to 110 without pausing for breath. And always wears Wranglers :-) ;-)

How wonderful if they have a good quality of life and the faculties to enjoy it.

Not so good if they are in age related joint pain with a brain turned to mush :-0

A couple of twigs in my tree reached over 100 when I was researching them a year or two ago. As they were/are mother and daughter, yes Genes might have something to do with it.
