My Westie is called Rory..OH chose his name and
sometimes we call him Twinkle cause he's a star.
My son's schnauzers are called Ziggy,should be
Old Man and the pup of a few months is called Gigi.
My daughters Staffie is called Butch should have been
Big Softie.

I have 3 cats, born on the day of a distant world cup, and initially named (by my adult daughter who was living with me when they were born)
Gi-Gi, (after a player I believe), Jelly Bean (because of her pink nose) and Mister something or other - can't remember, but it was another world cup player.
Daughter moved out a few weeks later. For the past 6 years, they have been called George, Betty and Mister.
Mister sometimes has 'No' or an expletive added to his name, as he can't retract his claws and uses them to get attention!!!

We don't have any pets now but we had a small black poodle called Minty (she was a miniature crossed with a toy).

We had a cat called Josie, because we liked the name.

We had a apricot toy poodle called Gemma again we liked the name.

A black female cat called Sammy, it suited her and a rescue cat called Holly, already named, born at Christmas or there abouts..

I have two cats (Siamese cross) called Geraint and Siwsi. Now they are older I still call the boy Geraint. But the girl tends to be called $&^!!)(& $%^*^

Got a Jack Russell called Charlie.

SHE was named by the kids, I think they had a perverted sense of humour!

my 2yr old cairn terrier is called kulli ,we heard the name on midsummer murders his daughter's name , hers is spelt culley,,i love the name and it does suit her,
she answer's to a few other name's but I will not put them on here.
my dog before her was called kizzie and that name suited her,
my first dog was called skip,suited him he used to clear our 5ft fence and he was a cairn terrier also.

We were talking to somebody the other day about our 2 dogs names Mini and Minx, now I can´t remember why they thought they were called that but Mini was already called it when we got her and Minx came along because OH was a Beano reader and we needed a name there and then. Since that day mind we could have called her many things more apt, not does it help I call them Mini mo and Minxy mo so they both look at MO.

Going back on pet names I called my pigeon Walter, My Rabbit Sarah (after a greyhound called Sarah´s Bunny) my magpie Monty. Greyhounds all had 3 names kennel names, NGRC names and flapper names the best was Rarey. Why because we had graded him in at a distant track to sell him and it´s a long way to tip a rarey !

I also had scragg end and whinge bag (my cats). Gemma the goat who was named that when we got her but my goddaughter is named after her !!!! and yes I have told her. There was Spas the chicken who used to live in the rabbit hutch.

Why did your pet get the name they have, and if you named as a young one would you change it now if you could to suit their personality ?
