I know that MC...it was probably me who pointed out that you could not un tick anymore

I read it as...how do you click a post as answered

Otherwise I would not have said you can only do it on those two boards

Oh, I see what you mean - the question originally implied how to mark it answered.

jax, there used to be a box at the top of the thread that said "mark this as unanswered" - it's gone.

I've just been on some of my own very old threads and experimented. Once you've clicked on answered there's no way to undo it. I understand that even deleting the post that has been clicked on doesn't remove the green tick from the front of the boards.

I believe the facility to unmark a thread as answered no longer works.

If you still want help on a thread that you've ticked then go to the first post, click"Edit" and you can then edit your heading to indicate the thread is still live.

Many of us had been asking for ages for the mark as answered option to be removed as it caused a lot of confusion. Instead, the GR team removed the facility to unmark it. :-S

Depends where you posted it

You can only tick answered on Find ancestors and living Relatives boards....

Hi Carol

I don't know because i have never done it..........someone on here will know though.

I always suggest that you don't tick a thread as answered because you never know if someone will come along and find more info.

That is assuming you mean ticking a thread as answered?

:-)
