but keep forgetting. Why do so many men of all ages - from twenties up, wear a little bit of hair shaped either in a square or circle immediately under their bottom lip?

Do not understand it - looks like a large hairy mole.

maybe because they can't grow a "proper" beard?

OH has a "proper" beard.... he's had it since he was about 20, long before we met. I have no idea what he looks like under the rug.

:-D

I knew somebody who always had long hair and a big bushy beard which was shaved off, probably up the pub or somewhere he had landed up drinking.

When he got back home, eventually, the baby was terrified of the strange man and wouldn't go near him.

My father held the belief that if you did not shave on a Sunday, you would never suffer from toothache.

He confirmed that this would work just as well for the men too!

Days when we locals are out in duffle coat and balaclava because it is a British summer once again you still see them strolling about in their holiday set.

Somebody was telling me of the day they walked along the beach meeting botha young man in shorts and no top and a woman in a fur coat.

I think some men think it makes them look like Johnny Depp - it doesn't (nothing can).

And on the subject of meaning to ask - why do so many women wear black leggings that are stretched so they become see through and you can see bare bottoms through them?

Hi Sharron, As regards some people in shorts and some in duffle coats, I suppose that, to some extent, it depends upon the temperatures you are used to.

We (from the UK) visited friends in Austraila one August.
We were in T-shirts as, although it was Australian winter, we did not consider it at all cold (by UK standards) yet our hosts were in coats etc as they considered it to be very cold.
I suppose it is relative to what you are used to - but I do agree that shorts with socks and shoes should be a definite no-no.

We saw an older man yesterday and he was wearing white socks with shorts and black strappy sandals. On the top half though, he had a bodywarmer over his shirt and a flat cap on!! :-S Maybe his top half was going somewhere cooler than his bottom half! lol.
