Variety is the spice of life lol Boy does Fred live it up!

Hope the problems become fewer and the bananas do him good, tell him the empty skins are great for roses, might encourage him to eat them then help the roses out later.

Well done Fred! :-) Peach sandwiches - what a novel idea.

I know teenagers are reputed to have hollow legs and from my own experiences of two lads - has Fred decided to become a second time around teenager?

Fred has listened to me.

He has had a catheter for seven years since he had his stroke and we have had very few problems with it. Just occasionally we would have a bit of leakage when it needed changing or when his bowel was very full, usually around the day he has sausage sandwich for lunch and fish and chips for tea.

A few months ago he finally discovered the joy of going to the café in the other village so he does this twice a week. He can have what he likes, he is a big boy with his own money.

We have been having huge problems with his catheter leading to out of hours call outs and anti- biotic prescriptions.

Quite by chance really, I enquired of what he ate at the café. Egg, ham and chips, all day breakfast, egg on toast whereas at home he complains that he is served carrots too often and only wants one type of veg with his spud, not two or three.

I have pointed him at the fruit bowl and bought two hands of bananas so he can have one every day. In fact I have asked the carers to peel one for him in the morning because, even if he refuses to eat it, it is important that it gets into his body somehow!

No more catheter troubles but I think he was making a protest of some kind last night. He insisted on having a peach sandwich for his tea!

Just remembered that he had shepherd's pie with veg for his lunch yesterday as well.
