I woke up about half an hour ago.... heard a strange noise

I went outside, it was louder.... a high pitched eeeeeeeeeee. Dogs are barking. Himself is still asleep. I'm deaf in one ear, and have strange hearing.... I always hear sirens before anyone else. Do I have dog ears?

Can't see any other houses with a light on.

It is 2.20am :-(

It's driving me MAD :-P

tinnitus? Not joking, sometimes I hear lorries reversing, sometimes distant parties or traffic - and no-one believes me as they know I'm very deaf and wouldn't hear if it were true!

Maybe a helicopter. If the dogs are barking it is possibly external. Sometimes they fly very high to keep the noise down. Or maybe you don't live in an area like me where sometimes they are out to catch the villains. Your ears maybe more attuned to the lower noises. Just a thought.

When I went back to bed I closed the door, that helped a little bit. Slept until 8.15 this morning! No eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee this morning.

It's not tinnitus, because it was louder outside.

It wasn't a helicopter...... the rescue helicopter regularly flies over, and I know what it sounds like, definitely not eeeeeeeee.

It went on for hours! Maybe it was a UFO? :-D Little greeeeeeeeeeeen men

I'm ready..........I

I've got my big boots, a torch, Himself, a hammer, a nail gun & a piece of cardboard with writing on it.

Boots..... in case I walk in something horrible
Torch..... because we have no street lights, and I want to find the right house
Himself...... he can listen & find out where the noise is coming from, in case I get the wrong house
Hammer......... to bang on their door with
If they don't answer the door.........
Cardboard...........note on it.... I HOPE I WOKE YOU UP, BECAUSE YOU'RE KEEPING THE NEIGHBOURHOOD AWAKE. Please turn off your noisy machine at night or I'LL BE BACK!
Nail gun...... to nail the cardboard to the door.
