Dismissive!??

How many books did the teacher have published?

That's not a very nice thing to say.

She's probably jealous :-(

:-D :-D :-D

Teacher's books must be excellent then if her pupil was doing ok as an author ;-)

The lady was quite dismissive of her former pupil. I said that the books were quite light and she replied "I am not surprised"

Thanks Jemima. Have never read any of her books myself (being almost illegitimate :-)). But perhaps I will now. I note she was originally from Hopkinstown, where Cwm Rhondda saw its birth (see Christian thread)

Elaine Morgan also wrote for television. She adapted the 1975 version of How Green Was My Valley for television. Also- The Life and Times of David Lloyd George (1881) among others.

One of my customers was an elderly lady who was very pleasant and quiet and extremely intelligent. She died last month aged 92. Spotted her photo in local paper with a write-up. She was an author. Elaine Morgan.

That was real coincidence. I expect the lady was thrilled that she had taught somebody who was a successful author. :-)

I was looking at a book in my local supermarket yesterday when a lady asked me if I had read any of the author's books When I replied that I had she said "I taught her several years ago".
I was really surprised.
