Depending on how common the surnames involved are, you could try looking for children of the marriage by looking for births with the husband's surname and your birth mother's maiden name, as maiden name of the mother.

If they are adult and any of then live with your birth mother and her husband, it might make the family easier to identify in the electoral roll search Kay suggested.

If you were adopted, have you had access to your adoption file, and added yourself to the Adoption Contact register if in the UK?

Hi Jan,

Why dont you try the help lines, which are shown on the left hand side of this page.

Alternatively, you could try Find People (not on this site) and free.

Wecome to the baords Janet.

You could put her name in the SEARCH TREES on GR.

If you find a connection then message the person and you may get a reply if the person is still on GR.

Good Luck with your search.

Hi everyone

I have just subscribed for one month in an attempt to find my birth mother. I have my birth mothers forename, maiden name, date of birth, married name, date of marriage, who she married and in what district. Any top tips on how to tackle this process in one month?

Thank you.
