We stayed at home.

The catheter was still leaking and somehow OH picked up from the carers that they had asked the district nurses to come in and see to it.

Fred spent the day in bed waiting for a nurse until I rung their office in the afternoon to be told that they had no knowledge of the situation.

Fred wouldn't get up because he said he hurt where the catheter had been changed. Eventually, I managed to speak to the doctor who has prescribed anti-biotics and paracetamol which I had to go to the surgery and pharmacy to pick up before they closed.

Fred decided he wasn't going to take them. Well he is. If he clamps his mouth shut he will still be taking them one way or another.

I think we now know that I must do ALL the organizing because, when somebody else helps it is always a bloody disaster!

Looks like we might be staying here .

It will be my mother pulling the catheter out I would think. She did her best to sabotage anything I wanted to do in life. A little thing like being dead isn't going to stop her.

Shirley, I do that with the washing and then have to take care on the last two steps at the bottom of the stairs as the washing seems to be in one big heap!

Do be careful - we don't want you falling down.

I would ring and ask your house insurance about the specs, I claimed on mine when I caught them as I got out of the car and they flew off on to the road and broke.

Good luck with the Memory clinic etc.

Sharron, someone or something is trying to make sure you don't get that day out, must be a reason behind it all.

You're alright until he starts peeing on the stairs.

Have you tried chick crumbs in the dirt box? It surprised me but it does go a long way.

i loved the washing. i throw the washing over the top rail downstairs then cant step over it safely as it sprawls over the bottom steps . doesn't help that the cats indoor loo is on the bottom landing before the two steps down to the hall.

its only there cos she is 16 and had a couple of overnight accidents so we decided to have an indoor loo for her and place it where she had the accidents cos their smell is so much hyper and we didn't want her to soil the same part of the stair carpet.

Blimey have a senile cat and a senile hubby !! lol

I remember seeing Hubby had an interview so you were hoping for a respite day.

We are off to the Memory Clinic tomorrow for OH 6 month check and he really does need to be referred to the falls clinic cos he has had several falls lately .

The latest one last sat is going to cost new glasses at £300 approx .

Looked at the house insurance but it doesnt seem to be covered .

I like your Fred reminds me so much of my dad Fred who also had a stroke but in his 60,s he wasnt affected speech wise but had a week left side that caused him no end of problems

OH who has dementia is getting the mords wixed up or cant remember them at all

Did I mention that I was hoping to have a day out tomorrow?

Well somebody must have done because Fred's catheter is by- passing like it's not there. Have had to call in out of hours nurses who will get here when they can so I may be up most of the night.

Didn't want to go out tomorrow anyway!
