I think we would get some surprises if we looked into Fergie's genealogy on WDYTYA. She once described herself as "country gentry with a bit of old money".

Very modest descriptrion, it seems. She descends from both the Houses of Stuart and Tudor and I believe she is a very close relly of the late Princess Alice, Dowager Duchess of Gloucester (edit). Real British blue blood in their veins.

So hate to say it, but Jim Royle may not know all the facts to base (sic) his conclusion. :-)

Fergie,,,,,,,,Royal material ---------my arsenal.

Uzzi. We are all only expressing an opinion. No one is right or wrong - even Cynthia :-D :-D None of us know more than partial facts to base our opinions anyway. "Mine" is the only correct opinion - but "mine" is a generic word that applies to (edit - many) on this thread.

I do think a problem for Andrew and Sarah is media exposure. That toe incident seemed so shocking at the time. And topless!!!!!! Shock, horror. She had skin above the waist.

I hate to tell you all, but after Prince Albert died, our queer old dean did not necessarily mourn privately for rest of her life. And her son King Edward VII was married, but may have strayed also. But press not quite so invasive then perhaps.

Sarah is often photographed out and about with one or both of her daughters so they are obviously still close, despite her maybe being an embarrassment. I have always thought it odd that neither she nor Andrew married again and any relationships he has had have been kept very quiet, hers too of late.

Cynthia I agree so why should somebody decide it´s good she is back in the fold-

Lets be fair Andrew tried to protect her and she screwed up, she is no longer the mother of the heir to the throne etc. I actually agree it´s time that she was allowed to go to her daughters parties, but I don´t agree she has the right. She knew what she was doing when she screwed up and made money from it.

Being a 'Royal' means that the Queen dictates terms. Her children bow/courtesy to her when they meet.

Personally, I think Sarah Ferguson is a 'loose cannon' .

Please explain why about time ? , Personally I don´t give a sh*t, but lets be fair she hasn´t done her daughters well has she with her antics ! So why should she be accepted back into the fold ?

Apart from the embarrassing 'toe sucking' photos there was this of course......

Meanwhile Prince Andrew was today preparing to hold crisis talks with the Queen after his ex-wife was exposed offering access to him for £500,000.
The duchess, said to be 'devastated and regretful' at being secretly filmed by an undercover reporter posing as a businessman, looked pale and tearful as she arrived at Los Angeles airport.

I believe she is still a liability.

Neither Andy or Fergie seem to be that keen on marrying anyone else, so not the problem that would have been caused if Diana had married Dodi Fayed and his dad had been invited to every shooting party up in Balmoral.

I just think it looks odd at these official does to see Andrew at front, girls close to Andy - yet Fergie is in the toilet 200 yards away. They gravitate together as a fairly comfortable and amicable family as soon as they are away from pomp and ceremony.

Alas Cup Cakes as you say we are not Royals (thank goodness). .... but being Royal means a whole lot more than being like Joe Soap They have a position to uphold hence the Queen's involvement

CupCakes

CupCakes Report 13 Aug 2013 16:20

We are not Royals with huge house - should be Andrew who dictates terms not his mother. Some of the Royal decisions are publically embarrassing for the individuals concerned
I think they are together privately not just for the sake of the girls.
They are gorgeous and need their mum around if they are not going off into la la land.

I understood that Andrew let Sarah live in his home as she would otherwise be homeless. She has had very large debts to pay off but has managed because of her connection to the Royals to be able to pay off her debts (I think) . Cup Cakes why should you say "About time too" she is divorced from Andrew so not got any reason to be part of the family apart from the girls so don't think she will be welcomed back on a permanent basis...I certainly wouldn't have my son's ex back in the fold but have had her in the house a couple of times for different reasons.
