Fred, in his gardening days, was very much into shrubs and fuchsias.

We still have some fuchsias in the front garden and the one we have in the back garden we are planning to take cuttings from for the front before we dig it up.

The camellia he put in thirty odd years ago is big now and in the way, It has been cut back but we have decided it really must go and envisage a much more spacious looking back garden for it'd departure and Fred is pleased as he has been saying to get rid of it.

He also planted another shrub at the same time. I hope somebody can tell me what it was because he has forgotten. It had grey leaves and a gorgeous smell and a goldcrest was always in it.

It had grown into a small tree which I loved and the cats used as a way on to the roof of the shed to get in the back window.

When the architect came to discuss the wet room I specifically asked him to take the tree into account because I was so fond of it and loved to wake up to it's smell.

I went out somewhere and when I came back Fred had made his mate cut the tree down! He is truly an old git and I really wish he was fond of the camellia that is coming out because that would larn un!
