NfH - I know where you are coming from, because I sometimes lose things!

If I have done quite a lot of typing that I don't want to lose I open a Notepad document or similar and copy everything I have typed into that. I do that especially when I am on websites putting comments or questions into boxes.

If you are adding a reply then backspace will work as you would expect and will not take you back to the previous page.

Pressing Alt and Left (arrow) is the key sequence for going back a page.

I tried it and on my laptop it scrolls down the page. I usually use the wheel on my mini mouse.
