I was considering taking it into the garage..... finding the vise and a hammer... then I remembered what a shambles the garage is in (after the flood lots of stuff got put in there... and it's still there!)

It's 7.30pm and I'm going to bed.... I'm pooped!

It's a universal icon so you should recognise it... press it down and the phone should turn off!

The only thing I submerged in a bucket of water to shut it up was..... a carbon monoxide detector... Beep Beep Beep Beep ....

Post it to yourself.. will take a day or two...

Bugga! Bl**dy thing just went off, scared the p**p out of me.....

No point in answering it, because we live in a "black hole". I will only hear one word in 10 that the caller is saying, if the call comes through at all.

many years ago, our landline phone started to ring at about 7 pm, and wouldn't stop

It kept on and on.

We eventually had to go to a neighbour and ask to borrow their phone (this was before cell phones became so common)

The phone company did a quick check, they thought it was a switch "gone wrong" in a sub-station.

Turned out it wasn't that easy ....................... and it was in our bedroom

We had to stretch the cable as far into the hallway as we could, then pile cushions under, over and around it.

We did manage to muffle the sound almost to the point of not being able to hear it, and managed to sleep all night.

We did get an apology from the company .............. it was a switch that had got "stuck", but it was in a relay station somewhere unexpected!




so been there, done that!!

You can turn it to silent.. some people do that and just have it vibrate without sound..... if you get my drift..

OH restored a great big roll top desk, it sits in the living room because it's too big for the study..... I'll stick the 'phone in there with half a dozen cushions.

Funny thing though.... it hasn't rung since I last posted.

I took his mobile 'phone to him in hospital last Thursday, by Sunday the battery was kaput so I brought it home.

I don't have a mobile and don't use his, so I thought I did well to find the slot & plug it in to recharge.

When it finished recharging it started ringing. Not the ring when a call is coming in, but the ring to say there are messages.

I have no idea what I'm doing lol

I've tried to read the 5 messages (got one weird one to say he'd won 900,000 UK pounds), managed to delete that one...... but can't retrieve the other messages. I think I sent blank text messages to people lol

Not a problem, OH can read them when he gets home.

But it keeps ringing! About every twenty minutes, riiiiiiing riiiiiiiing

Last night I stuck the 'phone in a drawer in the study, closed the door, went to bed & shut the bedroom door, and I could still hear the bl**dy thing!
