GeordieinNorfolk.
That sounds like when my friend and I went shopping, when we got back to her car she exclaimed "look what my cat has done to my car" the boot lid was scratched, as we realised it wasn't her car, her keys dint work on it, we turned around to see the car behind us with the boot open it was hers of course but it was a wonderful comedy moment.

I had parked on the roof of the car park like I always do, it was relatively early so not many cars there, it would have been easy for them to find which car it was but they didn't leave their details so I will not be able to thank them.

Just a thought how did they know the correct car to place a notice on?

unless they walked around pressing the remote till a car responded?

expect though that you'd dropped them by the car.......??

A couple had a highly amusing five minutes watching me trying to open the door of my Fiesta in a Tesco car park.
Yes, you've guessed it - mine was parked a couple of bays away, an identical one to theirs!

I had a very tidy friend who parked her car when we were out. We had to get some more parking time while she was busy so I was sent to buy the ticket.

Somebody had parked an equally immaculate Audi beside hers.

I didn't know which was hers, you would always be able to identify mine just by looking at the junk inside. and I really don't look like I should be getting into a newish Audi!

Some mislay keys but a mate of mine mislaid his car on one occasion.

I had an enjoyable afternoon traipsing up, down & around a multi-floor airport car park helping him to locate it. Doh!

It's great when something good happens for a change, there are many nice people around just a shame we only hear about the bad ones.

They saved you a lot of hassle and money.

I dropped my car keys in a car park, someone had handed them in to security at the shopping centre, they put a note on my front windscreen stating that that is where my keys are but I had already been there and got them so I hadn't seen the note before going to security, also nothing was taken from my car.

I am very grateful to whom ever it was and it restores ones faith in humanity too.
