Hello

Almost to the hour, the opening ceremony of the the 2012 Summer Olympics, officially the Games of the XXX Olympiad began.


The London Olympics took place from 27 July to 12 August 2012
with many outstanding sporting moments.

Did you watch the opening ceremony?

Yes I did............... loved it !

and was very privileged to have been in the stadium when David Rudisha broke the 800m world record. Fantastic night.

Did think about getting tickets for this weekend but figured it would not be a good comparison, so watched on telly instead.

Hello

Thank you for your reply.

I remember me and my family sat glued to the TV watching the ceremony.

We loved every moment. But it went on for nearly 4 hours. :-)

We had Olympic and team Great Britain flags draped outside our home windows.

I still have my union flag rain mac stored in the cupboard for use another day, my progamme and map of the Olympic Park !!

You never know someone might be interested when I am long gone ..........

My grandparents were at the previous London Olympics after the war.

Well I Know where I was on 27th July 2003 I was on my honeymoon. ..admittedly trying to sort out a break in the night before but I was heading for the wilds of East Anglia, Clarecraft and Discworld. What wonderful memories I have
