A (sequel) poem for the oldies.

Member Since: April 2004 Posts: 5,141 Send Message	My grand-children poem was well received many years ago. This is the sequel. HAPPY DAYS My grand-children are now young adults, The tree of life moves on apace; God thought to bless us dearly, Nature showed its smiling face. Losing Grand-ma was terrible, But she'd happily seen them grow; The last dot had been connected, Before her time for letting go. So it's goodbye to 'once upon a time', Nursery rhymes and childish fun; Oh those lovely games we played - Somehow we never won. No more tiny little hands, Clutching trustfully in our grasp; Grand-dad's smiles and Grannies arms, Oh the happy hours we passed. Ring the door-bell and hide away, Then make me jump with fright; Shame we couldn't have them first - They don't wake you in the night. Dear, priceless grand-children, Free admission to wonderland; Those golden years have vanished, Like foot-prints in the sand. The joy of life slowly fades, Now I must act my age; Beautiful moments are a treasure, But time has turned its page. --------------------------------------- Thank you for reading Happy days

	Thank you Harry your verse has wonderful words :-) ah yes I remember those days too. My grandsons are now grown up and how I miss having them around, but making their way in the world and lovely young men :-D .... always great company when we get together again. Mau x :-)

	What lovely words Harry, you are clever. I am still waiting for grandchildren, I have three 'sort of' ones, the two of my partner's son, but we don't see them often, and the son of my son's girlfriend. The two who live away from Norfolk call me Nanny which is nice but I can't wait for my son to get started, and make me a real Grandma! When that happens I will have to ask you for your previous words Harry. Hope you are keeping well, especially with this warm weather taking it out of everyone. Typically of the weekend, the forecast is for wet weather, such a shame with brides hoping for sunshine, and all the fetes and such going on. Might go to the Worstead Festival today if it's dry. Lizx

	Researching: I am researching the Wotherspoon family from the Old/New Monkland areas of Scotland, some moved to the Leslie and Kelty areas of Fife and I'm having problems linking the Wotherspoon's from Leslie and the Wotherspoon's from Kelty. I am also researching the Clusker family from Co. Meath in Ireland who moved to West Lothian and from there to Fife............"Vita non est vivere sed valere vita est"
