There is a gym so close to us that I walk past every day .yea it´s spanish. dare I as it is pure spanish boxing
But it is so better than the lift knee and be careful of the tuck type gym. I for years have said the fittest I ever was . was when I sparred / boxed against my family and friends Tanners / Finnigans. I was over weight but boy was I fit so I want to box again as a weight loss and fitness not I hasten to say to get in the ring and beat pulp out of somebody.

Not anymore, haven't had the gloves on for over nearly 30 years.
In my younger and fitter days used to, but don't even think I could climb into a ring now :-( :-( :-D :-D :-D
Mind you, I wasn't much good at it unlike old Foggs, he was quite a good light heavyweight.

Littlelegs I don´t have to try and see, I sparred for years not for my fitness but for a spar partner, I just didn´t realize how fit I got through it. ..I see you might mean go join the Gym I wish I could, I see them each morning because the doors are open and so want to join, ..learn to speak spanish.

George I didn´t realise you boxed ..you have to admit as a fitness regime it is second to none. The friends by the way was the Finnigans Chris and Kev. boy did they teach me :-D

Uzzi, just learn the words you will need for sparring and such, I am sure you will cope. It will be a great way for you to get rid of frustrations and such, and there are sure to be folk there who do speaka da Inglisha!

Why not just go in and have a look, see how it feels to you inside, not looking in from outside.

littlelegs I don´t know if any speak any english because I haven´t had the nerve to go in.
I did notice today whilst walking past that they seem to have a "keep fit" group for ladies of a certain age ...and no I didn´t go and check that out either ..coward that I am.

Liz ..boxing and sparring need very few words it´s more in the grunts but I need to explain what I want 1st, and yes you are right that it would be a good way to get rid of frustrations. I have actually been nagging hubby to buy and put up a medicine ball for me and buy me boxing gloves. Maybe now we have a brick wall I might get it.

George ... I think Foggs is right about La Manga Club having a club there. I have moved 1/2 hour away from there now and I wouldn´t go to the pretentious over priced area anyway. (not a fan of La Manga Club as you may have guessed) I also think the strip may have one. but the one on my doorstep is literally that 1minute walk and so well kitted out it is not a back street boxing club. lol yes it is but you know what I mean ! thanks for asking Foggs for me.

I guess I am just going to either have to brave the language barrier or settle for the expensive nip and tuck type gym.

lol Liz of course I am a hussy and proud of it may I add. I would rather be a hussy than an over inflated barbie doll. ....I will explain how they are sort of the same but so different another day. (that´s a hot tub convo ). But where fitness comes in I would rather the rugged male sweaty orientated ...uppps that does make me sound like a hussy ...maybe I should just go with ,,, nah my baby she wears no panties may get me RR so
