A lovely weekend ...........

We've just had a lovely weekend away ......................

We have a cabin and 20 acres about 7 hours drive north of where we live, and it has just gone on the market. This was the first chance that we had had this year to get up there.

It was a lovely weekend away!!

There is no phone, no electricity, and no internet access :-D :-D

The view from the gate to the cabin was just gorgeous ...................... about an acre of tall white Marguerites standing well above the grassy meadow., backed by dark pine and fir trees.

The weather was glorious ................. hot, sunny, and blue skies. The hottest we got was around 31C ............................ thank heavens for air-conditioned car and air-conditioned motel room!! The cabin is empty, so we couldn't stay there overnight.

We had a wide choice of places to eat ......................

On Thursday, we had southwestern US-style BBQ.

On Friday, we had Mexican

On Saturday lunchtime, we had Japanese (mainly sushi), and for dinner we went to the best Swiss restaurant we know.

All meals were fantastic, and well worth whatever they charged.

Not bad for a small town with only about 5,000 residents!!

On the way home, we bought 3 - 4 lb boxes of the new season's apricots peaches, cherries .................. and 2 lemon cucumbers


we're now well refreshed, despite the 2 seven hour drives!!!

Sounds like a perfect weekend Sylvia - especially with the aircon! Love the sound of those apricots too.

My best bit of the weekend was a long walk (longer than planned as we got lost!) in our nearby shady woods. Paddling/swimming in the sea at 6pm ish every evening was bliss too - the tides and sun were just right this week for a sunny swim but a shaded walk back up the cliff path.

Dau No1 was in Canada at the start of the month and she spent a few days in Parry Sound... at a cabin on the lake!

RR ........... you'd probably think the price being asked is ridiculously cheap!

I'll pm it to you if you really want to know ..........................

but it is by no means luxurious!!



We once described it as camping in a 3 bedroom wooden tent .........

....... but it does have an indoor toilet :-D
