The declared age of the people will be shown on the actual certificate, the date of birth never is.

Unless you have seen a Parish Record of the marriage after 1837, you are probably looking at the gro reference from the marriage indexes.

To get full details from English and Welsh marriages, you need to order a copy from http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/
You can specify a checking point such as the name of one of the fathers, but they will only issue it if the details exactly match.

Try looking for the couple in the next available census - deduct the ages of the eldest child (if there are any) to get a rough idea of when they married.
Added - the census will also give the age of the adults and the place of birth - use that to help you narrow down a birth reg. You'll still have to order the BC to get full details

Hi, I have noticed that the site has changed since the last time I logged on. I have found 2 possible marriages for the person I am looking for but now I can't see the date of birth for the person so I can't be sure if it is the right person. Previously I used to put in a name and year of birth and then I could see the possible outcomes now I have no way of knowing for sure. Can anyone help me or I am being thick!! Kind regards
