Exporting a gedcom advice

Det, to find your GED file just click on start then enter the file name in the search box, as you type you should see a list of possible files, continue until the one you want appears then click on that, |

Thanks all, scarey moment there when I tried to download it from the email and little boxes kept multiplying saying 'open with'... and then 'cannot open' :-0 but it did go to my desktop ok and then to Tribal Pages where it has opened :-D |

If it's from GR, it comes attached to an email. Don't know about any other site, but if you have to save it straight away to your computer, just 'park it' somewhere where you can find it again! |

It normally goes to your email address then you can transfer it when you have somewhere to put it I put mine on tribal pages :-D |

Please can someone give advice on exporting a gedcom ( family tree) if I export it from a site, do I have to have 'somewhere to put it' immediately lol. In simple terms please. :-D |
