I also have distant relations who went to Utah and became Mormons, one of them was married to two sisters at the same time and they all lived as one family :-S

Many of my distant rellies went to Utah, joined the Mormons.

As per the "norm" many of the men had multiple wives....... and hordes of children!

Thank goodness for software that works out the relationships! I'd be totally lost.

Let's see......... Mary Whatsername is my 4th cousin 5 times removed, and her so is her half? sister Annie......... but their father's 3rd wife Jane Whoosit is the sister of the 1st wife......who is the cousin of the 2nd wife...... so their children are .............. :-0.... I have a headache!

:-D

Hi Les,

I have a tree on another site that gives my ancestors relationship to me. I have just checked it out as I have a similar situation.

My gt gt grandmother remarried after she was widowed. My gt grandfather is from her 1st marriage. I checked the eldest daughter of the 2nd marriage to me and she is my gt gt aunt, so Island and Mersey are correct.

Keep cool Les. :-)

Morning Les :-D

As I work it out, 2nd wifes daughter would be your great great aunt.

edit - the sums......
Assuming the daughter to be from GGgrandfather second marriage, that daughter would be half sister to your Ggrandfather, aunt to your grandfather, G'aunt to your father and GG'aunt to you.
