Festival of Speed.

The by-pass will be blocked, as it has been for a couple of days I believe.

We have to kind of creep about south of Chichester until about Tuesday.

It shouldn't be a problem though because it will be a hot weekend so we will not be able to get out of the end of our road or on to the one that goes to Wittering so we had just better like it here.

Used to love West Wittering, used to be taken there when little, then when married with daughter a baby used to go there with friends. Used to be this huge beach totally unspoilt and hardly anyone there. wonder if it has changed.
Also used to go blackberrying nearby somewhere.

Not much of a locals beach, that one.

We used to cycle to Bracklesham but the beach between Selsey and Earnley was the one of choice locally. You have to walk over fields to it.

That is where the bombing range was that we used to play on, and , yes, there were was still live ammunition about and they did still use it sometimes. And, no, we were not supposed to be there.

Such a fine environment for children, with the opportunity to be miles away from help when you are blown up or drowned.

Lol we used to do that at Browndown, Lee on Solent. boys uded to find flares and let them off, goodness knows what they were playing with or what danger we were in. We were about 14/15 at the time, used to ride there on our bikes. sorry way off your thread title.

I think I may have been to Bracklesham (talking 50s/60s here.)

The A27 traffic is affected here too Sharron..................first queue a couple of miles to get into Arundel, drive slowly for a while, then join another queue for Chichester, then another etc. etc. .....

The A259 is full of people trying to avoid the A27..................so we are staying in the village for the weekend :-D
