Oh that sounds as good as it can be at such sad times as this.

A real celebration of Norman's amazing life with his jokes being repeated by his family and friends.

A shame that Norman's sister was not with you all, but Joan had many others to help her through a difficult day. I hope that your sister-in-law can take comfort that Norman did indeed have a good send off.

Well it was a good day yesterday . strange though that may sound. Lots of family made it to the funeral although Normans sister wasnt able to get there.

We all agreed that Norman would have loved to be there and to have captive audience for his long rambling jokes that got added to every time he told them.

Joan,s nieces hubby did a lovely eulogy and we heard things we didnt know about Norman cos he spun yarns He was born in Karachi in 1930 and his dad was an engineer who went were his job took him . Norman was educated in the middle east and joined the Palestinian Army and then transferred to the British Army and thats how he got his British Passport . He told a few stretched truths saying he was Israeli cos the area he was born later became Israel NO he lived and was educated there lol

Been speaking to Joan today and she said too that oddly she enjoyed yesterday and Norman would have loved to be there. She said he would have hated her sprinkling holy water on his coffin as it laid waiting to go through the doors she said he would have hated all that mumbo jumbo as he would have called it but she felt she had to arrange a good send off for him.

I think Norman would have been looking down and saying where am I?? I have a captive audience and I have loads of jokes still in me !!

Not really a sad day but a celebration for a nice man who was loved by his wife's family .

Thank you all.

Paula you are so right . They were each others world, married for 49 years.

Norman had some health problems in the last 10 years and only a few weeks ago he fell in the bathroom and ended up in hospital for two weeks,
His heart was giving them concerns because he kept getting raised heartbeats.

We have just been told he had a DVT that caused his sudden death

Thank You .

Norman was a bit of a character, loved the gees gees and often did good on bets, that was his hobby

we are in contact with his sister who lives in the middles east and hopefully she can get here for his funeral.

All in all though was one of life's silent who was born. married and passed away.

There are lots of us who will never be more than what we are destined to be.

Its with a very sad heart that my hubby's sisters hubby Norman Nazareth has passed away in London at aged 83.

I remember in the early 60,s when my sister in law asked my opinion on whether she would accept his proposal . Norman was born in the middle east in the territory that is now Israel his parents were Indian who had migrated .

Norman had a British passport and served in the British Army and elected to be demobbed in the UK at the end of his service.

A really lovely man . although he and Joan never had children he loved her side of the family as his own

We will be saying our goodbyes on Wednesday at Golders Green Crematorium
