Cardigan or Cardagain?

One of my Scottish cousins in conversation mentioned he had bought a rather snazzy cardigan and wore it when he went to the library to exchange his books.

The librarian asked for his identity and he showed her his card. Went off and got new books.

Returning to book them out he handed over the books and she said "Can I see your cardigan".

He unbuttoned his "cardigan" and handed it over to her to see. He said she looked really puzzled.

She then more forcefully said " Can I see your card again".

He said the penny clicked then.

It was definitely a wind up ......... wasn't it? With him I am never too sure!

Maggie, he is such a wind up merchant I am glad I only see him about once a year!

He used to work in the Toll Booth on the Forth Road Bridge. I said that was the best place for him as in olden days it was used as a prison! Pity it still wasn't. Ha ha.
