next week we are to have high temperatures. It is hot here now, fan going, cooler going and I have just taken delivery of two caftans I sent for. Wearing one - lovely and cool and look respectable.

I know what you mean, Island! I tend to lurk indoors during a heat wave, only emerging early morning and late evening. Getting my fan down from the attic right now! :-D

120 F Chris?

I am down the lane and it has been hot.

ChrisofWessex Report 7 Jul 2013 17:47

Yes Ann - back garden faces south and in front of shed is lethal - the gauge is on the shed!

I know I cannot get comfortable at all today - not in bedroom with fan full blast or in lounge with air cooler full blast.

We always knew garden was hot but until we were given the gauge did not have a clue.

I bet you would be surprised if you took the temperature there. Not kidding.

ChrisofWessex

ChrisofWessex Report 7 Jul 2013 22:37

Ann - I even began to think the gauge was faulty but on the 6.45pm. ITN news they happened to mentioned that 'the temperature on the Centre Court to day was in the forties'.

I know years ago the temperatures the Met Office were 'taken in the shade' do not know if this is still the case.

One thing is sure and we both know - it is hot, hot, hot! :-) :-)
